Once the thresholds are appropriately chosen, hardware-specific documentation on how to implement them is given within controller-related documentation (see table above).<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"software_config\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Software-configuration\"><\/span>Software configuration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Software settings are configured from the user code and are compatible across controllers, with minor hardware-specific variations. In Simulink and PLECS, these settings are configured using the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/software\/analog-data-acquisition\">ADC block<\/a> (for B-Box\/-Board controllers) or the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/software\/tpi-adc-helper-block\">TPI ADC block<\/a> (for the TPI8032). The main software settings are described below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Addressing\"><\/span>Addressing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Device ID<\/strong> defines which device is addressed when a <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/help\/multi-master-mode-for-distributed-networked-control-systems#Imperix-distributed-converter-control-solutions\">multi-device configuration<\/a> is implemented. With a single controller, the default ID must be used, which is 0.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Channel number<\/strong> (B-Box\/-Board only) selects from which physical input data is read. The vector notation (e.g. [0:2]) can be used if multiple channels are desired to be configured identically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Measurement<\/strong> (TPI8032 only) offer the same selection mechanism, but as a function of the measured variable. The sensor type is also set automatically. Chosing a sensor automatically sets the corresponding sensitivity. This information is used so that the raw ADC value &#8211; a 16 bits integer &#8211; is transformed into a meaningful floating-point quantity (e.g. 230.6V) before processing in the CPU. If necessary, an offset can also be indicated, and compensated for during the same conversion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the TPI 8032, the sensor type is automatically selected once the <strong>Measurement<\/strong> is chosen. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-simple-alerts-for-gutenberg-alert-boxes sab-alert sab-alert-info\" role=\"alert\">The B-Box 4 supports the auto-identification of the most recent sensors (see <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/help\/sensor-auto-identification\">PN255<\/a>), so that possible configuration mismatches can be detected (warnings or errors displayed in Cockpit). Two options can be selected: <em>Maximum (device-dependent)<\/em> and <em>Programmable (B-Box RCP 3.0 only)<\/em>. The <em>device-dependent<\/em> setting automatically accounts for the controller model. For this reason, the <strong>Sampling frequency and phase<\/strong> is a common setting located within the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/software\/config-control-task-configuration\">CONFIG block<\/a>. On the other hand, filtering or down-sampling strategies are configured on a per-channel basis. The available options are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Synchronous averaging<\/em>. This computes the average of multiple samples over one or two PWM periods. This technique is the default recommended strategy. It is available for all controller models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Low-pass filter<\/em> (B-Box 3 and 4 only). This is a software parameter on the B-Box 4 (configured inside the model), but a hardware parameter on the B-Box 3 (configured using the front panel).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Data history<\/em>. This provides a vector containing the N most recent ADC samples. This generally makes most sense when used with a Postscaler between the effective sampling and CPU execution rates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If none of the above options are selected, regular <em>synchronous sampling<\/em> is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-simple-alerts-for-gutenberg-alert-boxes sab-alert sab-alert-success\" role=\"alert\">Imperix recommends using synchronous averaging in most cases.
