To learn more on FPGA development on imperix devices, please refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/help\/getting-started-with-fpga-control-development?currentThread=getting-started-with-fpga-programming\">getting started<\/a> guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vivado is installed via the <strong>AMD Unified Installer<\/strong>, which also provides:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Vitis HLS<\/strong> (formerly Vivado HLS): High-level synthesis tool which allows creating FPGA algorithms using C\/C++ code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Model Composer<\/strong>: Add-on for MATLAB &amp; Simulink which includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/en\/products\/software\/adaptive-socs-and-fpgas\/vitis\/vitis-model-composer.html\">Model Composer<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.amd.com\/r\/en-US\/ug948-vivado-sysgen-tutorial\/Introduction-to-System-Generator\">System Generator<\/a>. This tool is not free and requires a license.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about Vitis HLS and Model Composer, please refer to the dedicated introductions to <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/help\/xilinx-vitis-hls\">Xilinx Vitis HLS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/imperix.com\/doc\/help\/xilinx-model-composer\">Xilinx Model Composer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-simple-alerts-for-gutenberg-alert-boxes sab-alert sab-alert-info\" role=\"alert\">The recommended version is <strong>Vivado 2023.2<\/strong>, matching the internal development environment at imperix. Newer releases are also supported.<br><br>The required device support are<br>&#8211; <strong>Zynq-7000<\/strong> for Gen 3 devices (B-Box RCP<sup>3.0<\/sup>, B-Box Micro, B-Board, TPI)<br>&#8211; <strong>Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC<\/strong> for Gen 4 devices (B-Box 4)<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is-AMD-Xilinx-Vivado-free\"><\/span>Is AMD Xilinx Vivado free?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Imperix made sure to only use Xilinx devices (the Zynq-7000 and Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC mentioned above) that are compatible with the <strong>no-cost version of Vivado<\/strong>: the Vivado ML Standard Edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"How-to-download-Vivado-Design-Suite\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How-to-download-Vivado-Design-Suite\"><\/span>How to download Vivado Design Suite<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An account is required to download and install the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite.
