Laboratory modules for teaching and research

PEH full-bridge modules are ideal for laboratory applications and the implementation of downscaled power converters. Their power ratings are indeed sufficient for typical research and teaching applications, while their ease of use greatly accelerates the experimental validation of converter control techniques.

Each module possesses a complete IGBT H-bridge (two IGBT phase-legs) with 600V semiconductors. They also embed the corresponding gate drive as well as measurement and protection circuits.

Key benefits

Easy-to-use

The H-bridge modules contain everything needed to start working right away (sensors, logic, cooling,…). Besides, when combined with the B-Box RCP controller, they form a truly plug-and-play solution.

Configurable

The two IGBT half-bridges can be used either as one H-bridge or as two independent phase-legs. This allows maximum flexibility for building various power converter topologies, such as three-phase inverters for instance.

Multilevel ready

With their reduced ratings, the PEH power modules are well suited for multilevel converters. Their modular nature also facilitates the implementation of laboratory-scale power converter test benches.

Student-proof

The onboard protections guarantee that the module capabilities are never exceeded. Inexperienced engineers can therefore work safely, even if the controller doesn’t have the same level of protection as the B-Box.

Multiple integration options

Imperix power electronic building blocks are best assembled within rack-mountable frames or enclosures. This guarantees the highest flexibility, thanks to the modular nature of the power converter modules.

Flexible rack-mountable chassis (3U)

For those who appreciate the corresponding ease, imperix can provide pre-assembled chassis with power supplies and various other features. This way, development modules remain easily accessible and can be easily put in (or taken out) of the chassis, hence facilitating topology alterations.

Fully-integrated enclosure (4U)

Imperix power modules can also be placed within enclosures that guarantees that no dangerous voltage can ever be reached, except using 4mm laboratory safety plugs. In 4U enclosures, imperix implements the same sideboard controller as for the 3U chassis, which here also comes with an LCD display.
